I would say half up half down as it's probably the most elegant and fitting style.

As you are tall I would not put it all up as this can make you look even taller which could be intimidating for some men there:)

If you have some down it would complement the strapless look without looking like little effort has been made if it were all down.

You can show off your features whilst creating a curve around your face and not exaggerate the long narrow look, if that's the look you want anyway!

Here are a few suggestions on how to style your hair:

1..A bun--

Put your hair up in a ponytail, but then pull it through once more, but not all of the way. Keep it in the bun.

2. Braid--

A loose braid off to the side is very sexy. Even better - a french braid.

3. Half - N - Half --

Take the top layer of your hair and clip it up, while leaving the bottom half down. This works really well with thick hair.

I wouldn't cut my hair at all. but, make sure that you take complete vitamins every day. That will help grow your hair out fast and have nice healthy hair all at the same time. My hair grows really fast but, I only grow my hair to donate to locks of love every year I cut 10-15 inches. I have brown curly hair that often I'm unable to do anything with. Usually at mid length I can comb it back, other then that I mostly cut it so short that I dont have to comb it at all (military/football cut). Other then that all I know it can do is make a good mullet. Or else grow really long really fast. Example before kindergarten started My hair grew from short down to my lower back over 4-6 monthes.

Anyways what other styling things can I do with curly hair? I want to do something different but dont know what. Mom and others likes my curly hair and I would like to do something different and keep it curly so that it will appease these people that like my curly hair. You can borrow a hair straightener from a girl. (the reason I said borrow is because you as a guy really wouldn't want to be caught with one of those) and try cutting it a bit long a the top and shaving it a bit short around the neck, then spike it out with some water and gel.

My hair is a bit past my shoulders and is very thick and full. The problem is that the hairstyle i want to have for my wedding requires my hair to be a bit longer- maybe like 5 or so inches. You can get temp extensions these days that you can wear just for one day. But just get good quality ones. And if they don't match your hair exactly, your stylist can dye them the same colour as your hair.

I have extensions on a year-round basis for fulness, not length, and I love them. I got hooked on them when I had them put in for my wedding! I would recommend them. The thing about it though, they're so expensive you might as well keep them in for the 2-3 months they last.

I have switched to many of salons of my days til i really was able to trust someone that knows how to cut my hair right and fix it the way i wanted it, but none of them listens. What my problem is that they are talking with their work buddies on worktime while i am sitting and waiting, which i don't have the whole year, some people have places to go and things to do. I have problems trying to figure out hairstyles on my own and i would get my hair done for dances or some big family get to gether to go to, I am developementally handicapped and have a hearing loss, and can talk ok. A simple ponytail with or without a decorative band. A half up half down style. Pulling it back with simple barrettes, clips, combs or headband. A chignon (a bun). One of favorites things I did to my hair when it was long is

1. pull hair into a loose ponytail about the middle of your head and secure with an elastic.

2. Just above the elastic from the top, put your thumb and index finger through and grasp the ponytail and pull through the top. You should now have a nifty twist thing goin on.

3. Now take half of the ponytail and pull it back through the other way. secure with another elastic.

I don't know if I explained it right but you should end up with a cool twisty poofy kinda thing that's different from traditional styles but still workplace appropriate.

Apply mousse/serum/etc. Separate a strand, clip the iron near the top of the strand while holding on to the end, and slowly pul the iron down a little at a time and turn the rod to begin curling the hair. This will give you a less poofy look, more 'refined' curls. You can then lightly comb your fingers through them to get the wavy look in desired places.

I have the same problem. You could do a side ponytail or just clip it up on top of your head with a cute barette. Also you could do two french braids or half french braid then just stop at the crown of your head and gather the rest of your hair into a ponytail. When you have bags it's best to put some hair on face, so not to draw too much attention to them.

Okay. No need to worry. You can cut your hair to your sholders and your bangs to your eyebrows. Then take your hair and wrap one side with a rubber band. (if it hurts, go to target and buy some hairbands that are the type that are round and small) This is called pigtails that I will tell you. Then wrap the other side too.

If you're not sure, you could always walk the line a little bit. Cut it to your shoulders, get some choppy layers and some sideswept bangs, and get some reddish-gold highlights - I think a copper or amber-ish color would look nice with your skin tone. If you're feeling scene, you can gel it up and spaz it out or individually flip out your layers with a straightener. If you're having a less than awesome day, you can always just straighten it or leave it flat. With lots of layers like that you can always utilize the bobby pin - the scenester's best friend! ::lol:: Just make sure they're clearly visible and crossed in an X!

Well this really depends on what your hair type is. Does it easily get frizzy ? Or Does it have lots of splitends? Or etc? But going with an easy short haircut with front bangs could be really adorable. But that really depends on the shape of your face. But you say you have medium length hair, so maybe getting layers in the front and leaving it kinda long in the back could totally be cute. Try curling your hair with a small or large curling iron. Then use bobby pins or a clip to put half of it up. If you use the bobby pins grab hair from both sides of your head and pin it back kind've loosely so it sits up a little bit. Don't forget to spray some hairspray in it to stay up. It should take about a year and a half for it to grow that long exactly. I think that it would look incrediable with brown hair. If you have naturally curly hair then you should be able to do this no problem with one of the straghteners that curls and straghtens hair. But whatever you do do NOT get a Enzo Milano straghtener.. trust me! Also if you put lemon juce with a bit of water on your hair, let it sit, and then wash out, it helps hair grow faster.

wow the cut will look great on you, really! the cut you want will suit you very well, since the layers will frame your face, and the below the chin layers will lengthen your face to a more oval shape instead of chubby round! I say go for it. But unless your hair is naturally (mostly) straight, I'd recommend not cutting the bangs so short. 'Cuz they might flip/curl. But if those other pics show your natural texture, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.........

Well. I have the same kind of hair and what I do is i take my bangs and make a small pouf and then i put the rest in a loose pony tail or put hairspray and scrunch the rest and leave it down. Another thing that you could do is straighten it and leave most of it down but clip some of the front back so its not in your face.

When my hair was long and wavy, and brown, and my face was long, well, I didn't really like my face shape, I wanted a cuter face. so I did a cut that was sorta in my eyes; I looked like a surfer, it poofed up so much that it was cut right about above my shoulders but when it wasn't wet/straightened is was always above my collar.

But I was a tween. Like, people under twenty could pull is off, but it's very much a "younger" haircut. D:

I wear my hair natural all the time. My favorite hairstyle is the afro. Natural hair is just as versatile as relaxed hair. Women can wear braids, wash-n-go, afros, twists, bantu knots, and if you want to, you can straighten it. For me, it's not hard to manage at all. I love waking up every morning without a shower cap and washing my hair. You do have to make sure that it is well conditioned. Natural black hair needs lots of moisture but not grease...grease is not good for our hair. It actually retards the growth of your hair because of all the synthetic oils in hair grease. As in black men liking natural hair more on black women, it would help, but it takes a lot of soul searching inside to realize that we are NATURALLY beautiful...without all the weaves, perms, skin lighteners, and etc. Blacks have been taught that we were ugly every since the first African arrived here. It is still seen in the media today. The more European features on a black woman, the more she will be in the spotlight...yes like Beyonce. Since I have been wearing my hair natural, I have not been approached by many black men. I have been approached by other men of other ethnicities. I don't know what it is, but they find me more attractive then I did before with relaxed hair. I just think that people with natural hair do not believe what mainstream society thinks what beautiful is suppose to be which is European aka Caucasian looking. We naturals believe that we are truly beautiful just like God made us. We believe that Black is beautiful! Yes Terry the question is very complex!!! However, I totally disagree with Pseudonym, I believe if more black women in media rocked the naturals, then it would definitely take off. However, if they're not wearing weaves or wigs, they are sporting permed hair. All of the young stars rock weave. However I believe if people like Beyonce, Rihanna, Angela Bassett. and even Oprah all wore a natural for one good year, that **** would really take off. Hell, I would even follow their lead. These are the people Black women look at and watch. And I am a perm wearing sistah who has always been nervous about rocking a natural, but I know it would go well with these hips. Just dont know how black men would take it. I think most people have a need to fit in........ but not all. I just happen to be one who on occassion, just dont give a "f", but for the most part I love my permed hair. Actually, I love to see women in the afros. Its so beautiful and "natural". A lot of women in africa now have perms. Perms give you more flare and styles.

it really doesnt make a difference if is natural or permed for it to grow any quicker it depends how the sista looks afta her hair.......the big misconception is that sistas need grease to moisturize their hair when it is the complete opposite......most greases contain what we know as mineral oil/petroleum/other petro chemicals which stunts hair growth as these ingredietns clog the pours.... its always best to use a more natural haircare product which doesnt contain these items.....also some people find their hair easier to manage with their hair permed and can find more styles to go with it.......i personally think there is a mixture of people who should be exceptant of natural hair the individual themselves should be and feel happy to embrace their natural hair and it would actually be helpful if people in society also took a stand it might encourage more people to rock the natural.......

i used to rock perms from the age of 11 and im now v. soon turning 20 and im in the transitional period back to natural and cant wait im really bored of the whole perm thing and there are some hairstyle that i just cant wait to rock......... but a lot of my friends are like to me i should just straighten it, it'll b long....it will look nicer blah blah blah.......i personally dont give a toss about the lenght.... and as for it looking nicer that depends on how i feel...if i go out there with my head held high and my hair natural then im 110% positive that they will except my hair the way it is.....i just have to take that step..........

My afro is easier to manage than my relaxed hair was. Less breakage, and I can wash, condition and go! Plus, swimming and showers are no problem now. Neither is weather. Afro grow really fast, because your not using chemicals on your hair slowing the grow, your scalp can breathe naturally.

If all else fails, put your hair in a high pony on top of your head and curl it with a teeny curling iron or hot sticks. You can then either chose to bobby-pin the curls randomly all over your head or let them just bounce around on top. Don't forget to use hairspray! Have fun and take lots of pictures! Hah, this is what I question myself with every single day. Here is what I've come up with-- put the chunk underneath the top layer of hair so that its only really seen when the hair is flowing... or if you've styled your hair to show it. :) If that doesn't make sense, send me an email and I can explain better.

I recently put a very bright red section underneath the top layer of my blonde hair, just to be a bit daring. While it wasn't well received in my office because it was relatively bold, it isn't something that can be deemed as "inappropriate" unless I had put huge chunks of pink on the top of my hair.

You can definitely mix it up like that, have the streak in your hair but when you're at the office pull it back tight and mix where you have the streak at around more instead of having it all together. Just because you have a different color in your hair doesn't mean that you're all wild, you can still be conservative.

I Loooooovvve ur old hairstyle! u looked soooo hooot!!! ur new one is ok crap i feel so bad for u! not in a meam way it just doesnt look as good. next time u get ur hair cut and they start to cut it to short speak up k!but hey its not that bad. and idk how long it will take to grow back it depends on how healthy your hair is, so if you want it to grow fast, try to take real good care of it and use good expensive shampoo and conditioner and no bad hair gel or anything if u use that.

You should braid (french braid is the best) before you go to sleep. Sleep on it. Take the braid out gently. Then curl the top layer of your hair. If you want, flip your hair over gently and spray with curling gel. from there you can leave it down, put it in a low ponytail w/ cute scrunchy, headband, ect. OR if you need a really quick fixput your hair into a low pony tail on either side of your head. put that into a messy bun and add a ribbon/bow and tease the top of your hair for a slight poof.

If that is you in the photo, I think you would look cute just pulling the top into a pony-tail and pinning it back, while letting the longer hair underneath fall over your shoulders. You can alternate between that and the messy bun until your hair grows out and you can do other things.

I should explain that it looks like a scissors but has grooves on the cutting edge so that it just thins the hair but doesn't change the hairstyle.. My kids have VERY thick hair and i am enjoying using the hair thinner thingy on them. They are looking so civilized for once. will it have a bad effect in the long run?

They are called thinning shears and please be very careful using them If you cut it too close to the scalp your gonna have little hairs sticking everywhere and make sure you dont use them in one spot if they have long hair make sure you cut it somewhat in the middle of the hair shaft. just dont go to crazy with it

The disadvantage would be in overdoing it, and it doesn't sound like you've done that. Another disadvantage might be in what it looks like when their hair gets longer, but that's not relevant if you keep it short or medium length.
