A simple ponytail with or without a decorative band. A half up half down style. Pulling it back with simple barrettes, clips, combs or headband. A chignon (a bun). One of favorites things I did to my hair when it was long is

1. pull hair into a loose ponytail about the middle of your head and secure with an elastic.

2. Just above the elastic from the top, put your thumb and index finger through and grasp the ponytail and pull through the top. You should now have a nifty twist thing goin on.

3. Now take half of the ponytail and pull it back through the other way. secure with another elastic.

I don't know if I explained it right but you should end up with a cool twisty poofy kinda thing that's different from traditional styles but still workplace appropriate.
