Best Hairstyle for unmanagable frizzy curly hair?

I have this wacky curly/frizzy/thick hair that seems to hate me no matter what i seem to do with it. Its long...about 5 inches below my shoulders. What should i do to tame it?

Cut it a little shorter (get any dead ends off) and use an anti-frizz hair serum and some mousse. Then let it air dry. It may look a little wild, but it's fun and you'll get tons of compliments.

Have it layered -- stacked, really, to avoid the bulk -- by someone who's comfortable cutting curly hair. Go a little shorter than your present length, and this'll be the most liberating hairstyle you've ever, ever had. But find a skilled stylist. Very important. (And once you do, tell me who!)

I have this problem. I use leave in conditioner so it wont dry my hair out like moose and will let it air dry and use a head band to hold it up. I tend to always straighten it out to so I can wear it done or up. But with my curly hair I always find that half way up and half way down it looks best. Good luck!

I write a series every Friday....its called Frizz-free Fridays, it began last week....on my hair blog......I have so many people ask about this subject and prior to that I did a 5 day series on the subject... called FLATTEN THAT FRICKEN FRIZZ....so there is your first start...

If it were me...

I would buy 4-5 of the products made by a company i'm sure you have not heard of but its a ethnic hair company that those of us in the upper echelons of the hair universe use, because their products rock.

I would probably get a professional Relaxer done, by someone who is the best in my city I lived in.....and would ask around to find out....who exactly that was.

They're expensive but are very very life changing...

"done correctly"...

compare the $$ you spend on make-up and then on hair.......

make sure its even....

If I had to choose one low priced answer....

it would be:

buy the 5 lb tub of Humecto hair Conditioner - Kera Care brand....and twice a week sleep with it in my hair.... and then buy Silken Seal and the Spray Oil sheen ( used lightly)...those 3 products will make a whole lot of difference my dear...

First off don't layer your hair. I too, have thick naturally curly wild hair and I can tell you that layers will make it curlier and POOF worse. I've noticed with my own locks is to let them grow long and even and let the weight of the hair pull down some of the curl. (IF your hair is thick like mine anyway)

Frizz Ease works okay and also, you should be conditioning your hair each night as well. I've even put a little bit of Dove conditioner in my hair in the morning, as if it were gel and I've left it in for a few hours. It smells great and leaves your hair super soft!

I also have what i like to think of as "Hermione Hair" ,you know from the harry potter books. The only thing i have found that works for me is to embrace the tousled look.

Make sure when you get a cut that they give you some decent layers. Other wise it goes cone head.

Never, no matter what your stylist says, use a straightening iron or a blow drier. Curly hair is naturally dry. Heating it makes it worse.

Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

I use "bed head"s uptight spray as an extra leave in type conditioner. There is also this "pure shine" spray curls stuff that helps to control the frizz as well.

Good luck

And remember from Heinlein to tom Robbins at least the literary type men like crazy insane out of control hair
