SERIOUS SCALP/HAIR ISSUES!! please read!! PART 2?

in the back of my mind, i keep thinking that if i cut my hair short, it will make treating what ever it is i have easier. especially since i have a young child who likes to pull those little hairs on the back of my neck. but i have no idea what hair style would be best for me and my hair. i have a round face with double chin. but my hair is thick, curly, layered, frizzy, dry, and long. i don't have any idea as to what hair would look good on me. i've tried those virtual makeover sites but nothing looks good on me. PLUS, you need a membership to see the good hairstyles (and i'm not paying for that crap!).

I NEED HELP!! this is something that is really a personal problem because i can't even wear my hair down anymore because of the flakes and the hair.

you may be having these scalp issues because your hair is so thick and so long. i see this on clients with hair like you. often this is caused from shampoo/conditioner buildup. i always tell my clients to sing a little song as they rinse their hair in the shower.sing happy bithday to me...happy bithday to me... etc.....this aloows all the product to be rinsed from the hair. since your hair is long and thick it will require a longer time to rinse. if you are losing a lot of hair this can be caused by stress, heredity, medication, malnutrition, thyroid issues, etc. go get a simple blood test to see if you need to be on medication for any of these issues. also try switching shampoo. in the salon i work in we carry a product line called nioxin. i think it would help your hair alot. it helps to increase blood circulation thru the scalp. i have seen it help alot of my clients with scalp issues. find it at www.nixion.com

also you may want to consider cutting your hair shorter so that it will be easir to take care of. also if your hair is thick like you say it is,,,,,do not pull your hair up in a ponytail, braid etc everyday. i have also seen clients who pull up their hair when it is wet everyday and you can develop mold on your scalp because your hair is so thick it does not dry. best of luck and sorry my answer was so long.

see i really like that hairstyle.. withe the blonde girl with long hair. Because I hate straightening my hair and thats basicly how my hair looks after I wash it... except my hair is shinier and a little bit wavier. I'd suggest getting bangs, not side bangs, long bangs, their cool edgy and easy to maintain. get a little bit bellow the shoulder length, and getb your face framed with like shorter by your face and then long layers to give you a nice depth, good luck

I looked at your 360 profile, and am wondering how much longer your locks are compared to the picture. Since having dreadlocks is a pretty bold and ethnic statement unto itself, I think you should honestly just wear them how they are instead of putting them up, especially if they are above shoulder length. I think the way they appear on your page looks nice because its a natural look for you, and the way it frames your face really puts your proportionate facial features in focus which is always nice. If you must do anything to them for the wedding, make sure you have a nice veil arrangement, and maybe put something decorative along the lines of hair accessories, shells, beads, etc. in your hair. Otherwise, I think since having dreads is a serious hair commitment, you should just try to wear them as naturally as possible.

Ok..... I Loooooovvve ur old hairstyle! u looked soooo hooot!!! ur new one is ok crap i feel so bad for u! not in a meam way it just doesnt look as good. next time u get ur hair cut and they start to cut it to short speak up k!but hey its not that bad. and idk how long it will take to grow back it depends on how healthy your hair is, so if you want it to grow fast, try to take real good care of it and use good expensive shampoo and conditioner and no bad hair gel or anything if u use that.

I totally agree, your old and new hair look really sexy but the old one looks kinda emo. The new one looks a little better because it's off your face a little bit more. But if your really don't like it then take really good care of your hair and it will grow back in no time!!! Not literally of course though. lol : ) Good luck

I am a black.What do you black females do with your hair,is it permed,natural,hot combed?How do you keep it good?I had natural thick black people hair and a lot of it,then I permed it,and now its real long and i still have a lot of it. same here...I feel weird with my hair straight....just look threw the black hair magazine...they have alot of nice styles in there

if you are more confortable with it natural...then do it...BUT it will be a LONG process you will have to grow your hair out...and will have to keep it in braids or something until it completely grows out... and you'll have to make sure your hair NEVER dries out...

OR you can have your hair waves =]...if you texturized you hair...yoiu can put some mousse in it...it will take a while for the curls to look perfect...you'll have to keep doing it for a good while...my sister does...and it looks soo good

oh and you shouldn't have your hair pulled back so often...you're forehead will grow...if you know what I mean...I wear my hair down often...so when I put my hair in one...my hairline is nice and thick...so be careful

either way....i dont think t matter whether you perm it or not....i think it looks good both ways...

but you take LESS chance damaging it if you keep it natural.

besides a pony tail... you could try a head-band every once in a while....

try jus puttin twist on one side of ya head... let tha rest be curly n wavy...or half way round....i kno u kno wat im talkin bout....even everyonce in a while get some extentions or sum'um ta spice it up...try a few highlights...but some thing that still looks natural.

if u have longer hair....try puttin layers in it...to give it some volume n life...

My hair is permed, and my hair is past my shoulder. I apply an hair dressing to my hair and scalp twice a week and message it in. I use an hair dressing that contains natural herbs and vitamins and minerals. I also use a oil sheen hair spray to my hair before styling every morning. I don't use rubber bands on my hair. Also don't over comb and brush your hair, this causes your hair to stretch and break off. I also do not use heated hair appliance to my hair. Shampoo your hair every 7 to 10 days. Our hair does not need to be shampooed and conditioned every week. That ruins our hair and we loose our natural oils in our hair. I wet set my hair. For permed hair styles is the same hair styles for pressed hair. Just buy you some plastic, magnetic rollers with the smooth barrel and roll up your hair every night. Or wrap your hair up and wear it straight. Or just roll your hair up half way up and wear loose bouncy curls or roll up the ends for loose cursl. There are a lot of hair styles for relax hair.

I wear my hair in sprial curls on the week days and wear loose curls on the weekends.
